Dr. 汤姆·凯利 is executive director of the UNH 可持续性 Institute, which he founded in 1997, 和 Chief 可持续性 Officer of the University of New Hampshire (UNH). Throughout his three decades of national 和 international work in higher education, Dr. Kelly has focused on sustainability as a transformative cultural force, 和 creative process of engaging its disruptive 和 inspirational dynamics in education, 研究, 和实践. He co-edited 和 authored "The Sustainable 学习ing 社区: One University's Journey to the Future" (2009) a book written by more than sixty UNH faculty 和 staff engaged in collaborative sustainability efforts on 和 beyond the campus that have established UNH as one of the most innovative sustainability institutions in higher education.

Dr. Kelly’s current activities include a focus on the practice of facilitative 和 network leadership in developing transdisciplinary approaches to sustainability challenges. He is a founding convener of Food Solutions New Engl和, 一个6个州, network working to realize a shared vision for a sustainable, 区域粮食系统. 他是 A New Engl和 Food Vision, as well as the 2017 article “Equity as Common Cause: How a Sustainable Food System Network is Cultivating a Commitment to Racial Justice.” The article is published in the journal Othering 和 Belonging. He is also a collaborative designer 和 facilitator of the Food Solutions New Engl和 Network 领导 Institute 和 a founding convener of the New Hampshire Food Alliance. 

Dr. Kelly is a regular contributor to sustainability in higher education professional meetings 和 was a founding member of the Northeast Campus 可持续性 Consortium 和 Inter-institutional Network for Food 和 Agricultural 可持续性 (INFAS). He collaborated with Association for the Advancement of 可持续性 in Higher 教育 (AASHE) 和 Second Nature on curricular 和 pedagogical innovation through the design 和 facilitation of regional symposia of the American College 和 University Presidents Climate Commitment (ACUPCC) 和 two annual curriculum convocations of the AASHE national conference. Recent invited talks include the University Alliance for 可持续性 convened by the Free University of Berlin, 2017年德国, the World Symposium on Sustainable Development at Universities convened at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2016, the 2016 conference of the International Sustainable Campus Network in Sienna, 意大利, 和 El Encuentro Campus Sostentible in Santiago, Chile in 2015.

Dr. Kelly was a visiting scholar at the U中心.S.-Mexican Studies at the University of California San Diego, 和 a visiting professor of trans-boundary environmental issues in the U.S.-Mexican borderl和s at 墨西哥学院墨西哥DF. From 1993-1997 he directed the Tufts Environmental Literacy Institute shaping it into a place-based, short-course that he collaborated with colleagues in Colombia 和 Brazil to adapt 和 offer similar workshops. In addition to an undergraduate 和 master's degree in musical composition 和 conducting, 他有博士学位。.D. in International Relations from the Tufts University Fletcher School of Law 和 Diplomacy.
